The Series on Leadership Essentials (SOLE) is dedicated to helping you lead in your role and is facilitated by the University of Missouri System Human Resources Learning and Organizational Development team. 

 SOLE represents a significant investment in leadership development for staff leaders grade 9 and below on behalf of the entire University of Missouri System.

What to Expect 

SOLE is conducted over four, virtual 90-minute sessions. These sessions generally occur once a week for four weeks. During SOLE, you will have the opportunity to explore the following topics: 

  • Session One 

    • Growth mindset 

    • Understanding and maximizing your workstyle 

    • Planning for your future development 

  • Session Two 

    • Building trust and creating psychological safety 

    • Giving and receiving feedback 

    • Developing others 

  • Session Three 

    • Peer mentoring workshop 

  • Session Four 

    • Contingency planning and navigating workplace disruptions 

    • Project planning and organizing a workgroup 

    • Identifying and engaging with stakeholders
